Bay Cities FC have given player Jonathan Partida the Captain Arm band for the 2021 Summer Tour.

Partida is what you call a homegrown player, stating that he is a Bay Area 510 native in body, heart, and soul. Born in Hayward, CA and raised in Newark, CA Partida is happy to be back home in the Bay Area.

“Growing up in the Bay Area has definitely influenced the person I am today. I have the Bay Area slang, culture, swag, taste of music, and hyphy movement in my blood. This also gave me the experience of growing up with diverse cultures and ethnicities, which I loved. There are Hispanics, Caucasian’s, Asians, African Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Indians in every city. I grew up with a diverse group of friends and acquaintances in my neighborhood and schools.”

“In late 2006, I began playing soccer in Newark with the local club team named “Newark Eagles”. I played for Newark and Union City Soccer Club ‘Barcelona’ for five years. In 2011, during my 8th grade summer, before entering high school, I was scouted to the San Jose Earthquakes Pre- Academy. I only played for the Pre-Academy from July - December 2011, up until I was pushed up to the U16 academy. All throughout high school I played for the San Jose Earthquakes U16 and U18 Academy teams.”

After High School graduation, I was able to continue playing soccer at the collegiate level for San Jose State, located in the heart of the South Bay. I credit my coaches and the program for developing me in those four seasons at SJSU.”

Partida was signed with upcoming California rival team, Los Angeles Force in early 2020. He made 3 appearances during their Fall Season and Championship runs starting in 2 of the 3.

“El Capi has outstanding leadership skills, passion for the game, he is so motivational & enthusiastic it’s infectious. His teammates see his confidence and want to replicate to be successful on and off the pitch.” said Head Coach of Bay Cities FC Men’s team Arturo Orozco.

“It feels so good being home and once again representing the Bay Area/Nor-Cal, which has always been my home. I am excited for this new opportunity with Bay Cities FC and am looking forward to it.”
